2010 School Daze Camps

Make your school holidays ROCK at SCOSAG: Super Fun School Daze Camps, Winter Break and Spring Break Camps. Spend the day creating art, making music, reading stories, playing games and exploring Tower Grove Park! Each camp is theme based, so no two camps are the alike. Camps are held in accordance with the St. Louis Public School Calendar.

To register for camp, download and complete this registration form. Registration forms can be emailed to scosag@gmail.com, or mailed/delivered to our location at 4255 Arsenal.

School Daze Camp:
• Camps 9A-3P $40
• Extended Care AM: 7:30-9AM $5
• Extended Care PM: 3-6PM $10

September 6 (Labor Day):
Workin' for a Livin' - We'll explore professions, jobs, community involvement, the idea of work, who owns your labor, and more.

September 24 (Professional Development):
The Weather is Here! - All things Atmospheric will be considered in this one day exploration of the science and culture of the changing seasons.

October 22 (Conference):
October Fest: We'll explore cultures, traditions, costumes, and languages around the world and then create our very own festival!

November 11 (Veterans' Day):
Peace, Love and Turkeys!: Ideas of Thankfulness, Respect, and Service are the focus of this exploration of our American Heritage.

January 3 (Furlough):
New and Improved!: In honor of the New Year we will look at the concepts of progress, obscelence, consumerism, and sustainability in our society.

January 17 (Martin Luther King):
The Art of Revolution: History is filled with revolutionary art and artists. We'll explore revolutionary art and artists in culture and society.

February 18 (Furlough)
Eat Your heART Out: What color is envy? What kind of line is angry? What shape is jealous? Let's use art to express our emotions!

February 21 (Presidents' Day)
Take Me to Your Leader: From Aliens and ET's to Royalty, Dictators to Democracy, let's explore what makes a leader and how we choose (or don't choose) our leaders.

March 25 (Flower Power):
Flowers are more than just pretty. From perfumes to medicines, we'll look at all the uses of flowers including as symbols in art and literature.

April 22 (Taxing the System):
Social order, common goods, resource exhaustion, and entitlement are the themes of the day as we look at how we impact the earth and other people around the world.

May 27 (The End of the World):
We feel fine! Science Fiction rules the day as we explore Doomsday predictions and create our own fantasy Utopian Societies and Post-apocalyptic worlds.

WINTER BREAK CAMPS:

December 20 - 23 (Hibernation Station): Don't go into hiding! Let's look at hibernation, hiding, rest, and rebirth in nature and culture!

• AM Extended Care: $20
• PM Extended Care: $40

December 27 - 31 (Winter Wonderland): Winter is a time of wonder, excitement, anticipation, and patience. We'll let our imaginations run wild about what changes lie ahead in the New Year.

• AM Extended Care: $25
• PM Extended Care: $50

SPRING BREAK CAMP:

March 14 - 17 (Spring Into ACTION): Form Action Heroes to Action Painting, we'll celebrate Spring by explring all things ACTIVE.

CAMP POLICIES

School Daze, Winter and Spring Break Camps:
Thanks for spending your school holidays with SCOSaG. We are glad you are here! To keep everyone safe and having fun, we ask that all campers and families review and follow all School Daze Camp policies and guidelines.

Summer Camp:
Thanks for joining us this summer at SCOSAG's SUPER FUN Summer Camp. We are glad you are here! To keep everyone safe and having fun all summer, we ask that all campers and families review and follow all Summer camp policies and guidelines.

REFUND POLICY
Camp deposit will be refunded or credited if you withdraw IN WRITING according to the following schedule: 75% refund for withdrawals 15 working days prior to the first day of camp; 50% refund for withdrawals 7-10 working days prior to the first day of camp; 25% refund for withdrawals 5-10 working days prior to the first day of camp. NO REFUND GIVEN for withdrawals less than 5 working days prior to the first day of camp.Balance of Tuition due at first day of camp.

WEATHER POLICY
IN CASE OF SNOW... SCOSaG will cancel classes, workshops, and Open Studio on St. Louis Public School snow days. School Daze and Winter/Spring Break camps will only be canceled if there is sufficient snowfall or ice to make it hazardous for faculty and students to travel. If you have any doubt as to whether or not classes or camp is being held, email us at scosag@gmail.com

Classes and workshops missed due to weather conditions will be made up at the descretion of the Programming Director based on time, space, and staff availability. Missed camp days will be credited to the student's account. No refunds are given for missed classes, workshops or camps.



It is the Mission of The South City Open Studio and Gallery to provide a safe and educational environment for children to explore the Arts and also to strengthen the ties within the St. Louis neighborhood, its families, and its youth.
