experience including cardiovascular games, science-and-nature activities,
up-beat history lessons relevant to St. Louis and Tower Grove Park, confidence

Sessions
Session 1
Sounding Out
June 2nd – June 13th
Pow! Bam! Boing! Rock-n-roll, Jazz, Blues, Classical, and maybe a moment of peace and quiet! Come make some noise with us! In addition to the usual plethora of camp games and art projects, this session will be rounded out with instrument building and playing, song composition, and even some sound recording activities. Find your own voice and let loose!
Session 2
It's Our Community!
June 16th – June 27th
Join us and discover who and what makes our city and its neighborhoods
tick. Campers will investigate individual roles in communities and create
their own interactive communities. Creative play, imaginative map making,
and multimedia sculpture help create important pieces of the social quilt
work.
Session 3
Cultural Connections
July 7th – July 18th
Investigate the world surrounding us: looking at St. Louis and abroad.
We will think, talk, and make art reflecting the interesting facts of
life from around the corner and around the world. Inspired by international
artists, activities include claywork, painting, drawing and collage. Sample
foods from distant countries! Make puppets and costumes to act out stories
from multi-cultural history and mythology.
Session 4
Time Travel Camp
July 21st – August 1st
Jump in our SCOSAG Time Machine and visit different times, lands, and
people. Get a glimpse into the past and help create the future! Multimedia
activities and projects will be based on interesting people who have shaped
our world and landmarks from the human kind time line! Hang on tight!
Session 5
Did Somebody say: Art Camp?!
August 4th – August 15th
Do you like to draw all day and paint all the time? This session focuses
on the ins and outs of art creation! Not a Picasso? Doesn't matter! Campers
of all skill levels will learn drawing basics and work in clay, paint,
bookmaking, and printmaking. Learn a little bit about history's greatest
artists too!

LUNCHES/SNACKS
Lunches should be brought to camp everyday, including a drink. No refrigeration

aftercare. Water will always be provided.
APPROPRIATE DRESS
Don't wear nice clothes! We get messy! Play clothes, closed-toe shoes, caps or visors, and sunscreen are essential. If you’d like, send an art smock (old shirt or apron) with your camper that can stay at the studio for the duration of the session. To beat the heat, plenty of activities will involve water. Swim suits worn under shorts and shirts are always recommended. Families will be notified on days where swimsuits are required, (i.e. days when we visit the wading pool.)
REFUND/SICK POLICY
Camp tuition will be refunded or credited if you withdraw 15 days IN WRITING
prior to the first day of camp; a 25% administration fee will be retained.
Within 7-14 days, a 50% refund will be granted. Less than 7 days, a 25%
refund will be granted. No refund will be granted after the first day
of camp.
RAIN POLICY
If you have any doubt as to whether or not camp is being held,
call the studio, 865-0060. In general, camp will only be canceled
in the case of a severe electrical storm. If a pop-up shower
catches us off-guard, there's plenty of room on the studio
porch, and we have plenty of rainy day activities to keep
the fun going.
It is the Mission of The South City Open Studio and Gallery
to provide a safe and educational environment for children to explore
the Arts and also to strengthen the ties within the St. Louis neighborhood,
its families, and its youth.
